Gorgeous made easy - "The Four Agreements" that will make you a happier person and change your life..

A friend of mine is reading this book at the moment - The Four Agreements: Practical Guide to Personal Freedom (Toltec Wisdom)

As always with these kinds of books you shouldn't take every word literally, however understanding the notions and reflecting on yourself to see where you stand with them, will better your life, your happiness.
I always say this, being happy is simply a perspective. Understanding what your perspective is and working to always change that for the better, will inevitably leave you a happy human being. Go on, give it a try..

The Four Agreements

BE IMPECCABLE WITH YOUR WORD

Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak out against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

DON’T TAKE ANYTHING PERSONALLY

Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.

DON’T MAKE ASSUMPTIONS

Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST

Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgement, self abuse, and self regret.

I found a short logical article that reflects on these points if you want to have a quick squiz.

Gorgeous art - my 'Piano girl' search

I was looking for a photograph of a piano girl. It was the photo I had as my screen saver for 3 years during university on my laptop.

As with all things eventually, It gave me the blue screen of death and I lost it.. I lost her. Now I know this may sound a little melodramatic, but this is how beauty and art moves me.

So I went on a search... A Google Image search to be precise and I wanted to share some of my favourite moments with you in this post. I really hope you enjoy.. (and yes, she is in here, can you guess which one??)

Gorgeous made easy begins with a healthy heart.. ♥

Diet Coke and The Heart Truth join forces to raise awareness for woman's heart health problems. Below are tips to keep your heart healthy and generally look after your inside body. Please see some of my favorites.. See http://www.dietcoke.com/hearttruth/ for the rest of the remaining 28 tips!

1. Don't Miss a Beat
To stay extraordinary, you've got to keep your heart healthy—it's what keeps movers and shakers like you moving and shaking.

When it comes to heart health, these three simple areas are a good place to start: diet, exercise and stress levels. Take a moment to consider each of these in your own life. Get out a piece of paper, and write down one simple change you will make to improve each. They shouldn’t be big or sweeping–make them specific and attainable. Here are some examples to get you started:

Diet: I will cut out potato chips–they’re not my favorite splurge anyway.
Exercise: I will take the stairs, not the elevator, at work.
Stress: I will reserve half an hour after breakfast just for me–no email or distractions.

Start with these simple changes. See how it feels.

3.Take Family Time to Heart
Being active is easier to take on as a family than alone. And if you think an "active family" means group marathons, think again. Remember, as long as you're moving, it's better than sitting on the sofa.

Here are three unique and fun activities for you and your family to try.

Explore Your City
With that crazy carpooling schedule, it's easy to overlook the best parts of your city. Make sure you don't, and get some fresh air and easy exercise while you're at it. Find an area or attraction in your city, be it the arts district or a historic neighborhood. Then take to it on foot as a family.

Build Something Together
If you pick a project every family member is excited about, you'll all be happy with the results and the experience. Some ideas: build a doghouse, create a stone garden or design and put up a tree house.

Find a Different Angle
Get a new view of your city from someplace high. Whether it's a skyscraper or a mountain, get to the top as a family and take a good look. It'll lift your spirits and your heart rate.

Try a different activity a week. Let everyone throw out an idea and then vote for the favorite.

4. Fruits and Veggies ... Fast
You know you need to get your greens. And fresh fruit is tasty but easy to forget. Try these five tips for keeping heart-healthy fruits and veggies top of mind and easy to grab when you're rushing out the door.

  1. Keep a bowl of fruit on the table or counter. Looks good, tastes great.
  2. Pick up prewashed bags of greens and add baby carrots or grape tomatoes for a salad in minutes.
  3. Refrigerate or freeze cut-up fruit for yogurt smoothies.
  4. Precut packaged fruit is a healthy snack for on the go. Keep your fridge at work and home stocked.
  5. Keep a clear container of sliced up veggies in the fridge—you're more likely to snack on what you can see. Try carrot and celery sticks, broccoli florets and cucumber slices.
Try these five simple changes. You'll be more likely to choose something tasty and fresh on your way out the door.
14. Give Your Date a Lift
If dinner and a movie leave you feeling sluggish, turn up the heat with something more active. Here are some ideas to get you started:

Go hiking. The nice thing about hiking is you can do it at any level. Hit a challenging trail at a brisk pace for a workout. Or, take your time strolling through the park or woods to enjoy nature and your company.
Lace up your skates. Whether you go for the old school roller rink or for the ice, this is something fun you probably haven’t done in awhile. And, bad balance just makes for more excuses to get close.
Visit an art museum. This may be mellow, but you’ll get a lot more steps in than you realize—and definitely more than you will catching a movie at the theater or on the sofa.

Spend your next date trying one of these activities or coming up with your own. Or if you’re single, go it alone—you never know who you’ll meet along the way.

15. The Right Way to Crave
Cravings happen. But when you get the urge to splurge, smart selections can keep things in check. Here are some ideas:
Craving Chocolate? Go for Dark.  Dark chocolate is rich in antioxidants and may contribute to lower cholesterol and blood pressure.
Want Chips and Dips? Try Pita and Hummus. The pita is a healthier alternative to a fried potato chip, and hummus is a high source of fiber andis filling.
Looking for Munchies? Go Nuts. Choose walnuts and almonds. Both help lower bad cholesterol and can help clear arteries. Plus, they’ve got that satisfying crunch you’re craving. Satisfy your snacking the right way. Yourheart will thank you.

25. Heart-Healthy Party Foods
If you're thinking of a sad little veggie tray, think again. You can serve heart-healthy party dishes that are bold in flavor and style. Here are three ideas.

♥ Veggie Roll-Ups. Lay tortillas flat, fill them with goodies, roll them up and then slice into bite-size pieces. Here are some spread and filling ideas to get you started: pesto, mango chutney, hummus, roasted bell peppers, sundried tomatoes, goat cheese, artichoke hearts & the list goes on and on!
♥ Sweet Potato Bar. Mash or puree sweet potatoes with a little bit of butter, and then let guests fill martini glasses and add their own toppings. Here are some topping ideas: mini marshmallows, brown sugar and turkey bacon bits.
♥ Fruit Kebabs.  Slice and dice your favorite fruits—strawberries, pineapple, banana, mango are good starters. Then, alternate them on skewers and stack high on a platter. Poppy seed dressing makes a great topping.

Get creative with your dishes, and mix and match to your heart's desire.

Nadia is Gorgeous made easy!

I spotted this lovely girl called Nadia (her Facebook Profile) today who was sporting a Gorgeous style. She's wearing a well balanced outfit perfect for looking cute and being comfortable during the day. Its a shame I didnt take a close up picture of those shoes! The United Kingdom flag studded by Swarofsky crystals.

It's true, block colours look cheap, however using only a few as she did with areas of nice detail (shoes & necklace) the outfit pulls elegantly together. Ramble ramble :)

Shoes from Bagatt (Italy) for €80
Jeans from Guess for €110
Necklace from a vintage shop

A friend of mine today posted in his Facebook status:

"Today don't beg, don't ask, just thank God in silence for all the blessings in your life."

Religious or not we should all take sentiment and be humbled by this statement. Appreciating all that we are so lucky to have in this world is what makes one content and ultimate happpy.

The end of Breaking Dawn. A really sad day in the land of Twilight.. Thank you and goodbye.

Ok, it's happened. I've just finished reading Breaking Dawn, the final book in the Twilight saga..

Despite a perfect ending, I can't help but feel sorrow. I never wanted the story to end.. For Bella and Edward to leave my life during those endless hours of reading, escaping into their wonderful love story..

Has this ever happened to you? I know it may seem sad to some, but really, I miss them already.. <\3

Gorgeous made easy is a new ultra light, comfortable, durable watch by Breo made from Tourmaline minerals. Also a mini rant about my favourite Chanel perfumes :D

Of all the places I would imagine to find my next Gorgeous made easy product, the Air Lingus duty-free would be my last guess. And a watch especially! Let's face it, the watches on most air line duty-free shops are bland and generic, not so Gorgeous at all and definitely never good value!

I was on a short haul flight and didn't even bother to look at the brochure. Then they announced "We are having a special Mother's Day promotion and offering 20% off everything, apart from Chanel and Urban decay products"

Darn it! I thought at the last part, some of my all time favourite perfumes are from Chanel. If there is a smell I would be willing to pay a premium for it would be for these treasures.. And a 20% discount on top of tax free would have been IRRESISTABLE. Stock up time! :)

Chanel Mamoiselle - Day & night works well. Its rich, interesting and sexy.
Chanel Chance - Day time for sure. Its fresh & vivacious and always perks peoples interest as to what you are wearing. I really love to wear this at the office. I think it says "strong fresh energy".
Chanel Allure - Night time for sure. Again interesting but with a deeper more seductive twist to the Mamoiselle. I will without fail wear this on a hot night out.

Ok getting sidetracked here :)

Breo Sport's multi-functional Roam watch, as they refer to it, is designed with the highest engineering standards and feels comfortable under any conditions. This product is made with a material called Tourmaline. This is a naturally occurring mineral widely used as a semi-precious gemstone responsible for many beneficial health effects including:

  • Increased concentration
  • Natural detoxification of the body
  • Improved sleep, relaxation and meditation
  • Improved vitality and movement
I had the colour choise of pink or black, and decided the pink was more fun. PRICE: Only 10.20EUR! RRP 18EUR at the moment, but if you are buying in Pounds it's RRP is only £9.99, which is very good value!

Official website is here: www.breo.com for more details. So in conclusion, my new Brio watch is Gorgeous made easy! :D
